Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) Requirements
A digital signature certificate is a secure electronic document that provides strong identity authentication for individuals and businesses. It is solely issued by government-certified authorities. A digital signature certificate holder can use their e-signature to guarantee the authenticity and security of any online document, making it binding and tamper-proof. It also ensures that the message does not get altered in transit.
DIGITAL SIGNATURE FOR INDIVIDUAL
Following are the documents required for DSC for individuals:
- Applicant's Aadhaar and PAN Card.
- First two pages of the Bank Statement.
- The first two pages of Last Income Tax Return/ Audit Report and Annual Return/ Self Affidavit with Reason, if not available.
- Authorized Signatory Organizational ID Card/Self-Attested Letter of Organizational Identity.
DIGITAL SIGNATURE FOR COMPANY
Following are the documents required for DSC for Company:
- Applicant's Aadhaar and PAN Card.
- Organizational PAN Card.
- First two pages of the Bank Statement.
- Incorporation/Registration Certificate.
- First two pages of Bye Laws/MOA & AOA/Rules.
- The first two pages of Last Income Tax Return/ Audit Report and Annual Return/ Self Affidavit with Reason, if not available.
- Partnership Deed/Trust Deed/LLP Agreement containing the list of Partner/Signatories (2 Pages)
- Business Registration Certificate (S&E/ST/VAT)
- Authorized Signatory Proof (Board Resolution)
- Authorized Signatory Organizational ID Card/Self-Attested Letter of Organizational Identity.
DIGITAL SIGNATURE FOR PARTNERSHIP FIRM
Following are the documents required for DSC for Partnership Firm:
- Applicant's Aadhaar and PAN Card.
- Organizational PAN Card.
- First two pages of the Bank Statement
- The first two pages of Last Income Tax Return/ Audit Report and Annual Return/ Self Affidavit with Reason, if not available
- The First two pages of Partnership Deed/Trust Deed/LLP/Agreement containing the list of Partner/Signatories.
- Authorized Signatory Organizational ID Card/Self-Attested Letter of Organizational Identity.
DIGITAL SIGNATURE FOR PROPRIETORSHIP FIRM
Following are the documents required for DSC for Proprietorship Firm:
- Applicant's Aadhaar and PAN Card.
- First two pages of the Bank Statement
- First two pages of the Bank Statement The first two pages of Last Income Tax Return/ Audit Report and Annual Return/ Self Affidavit with Reason, if not available.
- Business Registration Certificate (S&E/ST/VAT)
- Self-Attested Letter of Organizational Identity/Authorized Signatory Organizational ID Card.

DIGITAL SIGNATURE FOR NON-RESIDENT INDIAN
Following are the documents required for DSC for Non-Resident Indians:
- Attested copy of applicant's passport (Front & Back) by the Country's embassy.
- Attested copy of PAN, if available.
- Attested copy of applicant's Visa.
- Copy of applicant's driving license.
- Attested a copy of the applicant's Resident Permit.
- Bank Statement with Signature & Seal.
DIGITAL SIGNATURE CERTIFICATE FOR FOREIGN NATIONAL
Following are the documents required for DSC for Foreign National:
- Passport of the applicant.
- VISA (In case the applicant is not in his/her native country)
- Applicant's ID Proof.
- Applicant's Address Proof.
- Personal contact details of the applicant.
- Verification of the applicant (Video, Mobile, and email verification).
DIGITAL SIGNATURE CERTIFICATE FOR FOREIGN ORGANIZATION
Following are the documents required for DSC for Foreign Organization:
- Copy of Applicant's Employee ID Proof.
- Copy of Address proof of the Organization.
- Copy of Authorization letter of the Organization.
- Copy of Registration Document.
- Details of the applicant and the Organization.
- Verification of the applicant (Video, Mobile, and email verification).
HOW TO APPLY FOR A DIGITAL SIGNATURE ONLINE
Follow the below steps to apply for a digital signature online:
- Step 1: Visit the online portal of E-Digital Signature.
- Step 2: Having accessed the page, select the “Usage Type” from the dropdown under the Digital Certificate Signature section.
- Step 3: Select “Individual” if you are applying for an individual or select “Organization” in case you are applying for an Organization.
- Step 4: Select the default Class Type (Class III).
- Step 5: Select “2 years” or “5 years” from the Certificate Validity dropdown as per your requirement.
- Step 6: Enter Applicant’s name.
- Step 7: Enter Applicant’s mobile number.
- Step 8: Enter Applicant’s email id.
- Step 9: Enter Applicant’s Date of Birth.
- Step 10: Select the Gender of the applicant from the dropdown.
- Step 11: Select the nationality of the applicant from the dropdown.
- Step 12: Enter the Address of the applicant.
- Step 13: Enter the City of the applicant.
- Step 14: Enter the pin code of the applicant’s address.
- Step 15: Enter the State of the Applicant.
- Step 16: Enter the PAN Card number of the applicant.
- Step 17: Upload the Aadhaar Card of the applicant (Front and Back).
- Step 18: Upload the front side of the applicant’s Aadhaar card.
- Step 19: If the applicant has a valid coupon code, enter the code to avail the offer.
- Step 20: Tick the checkbox “I Agree to the Terms of Service” before proceeding with the application.
